character information
name: Princess Allura of Altea
canon: Voltron: Legendary Defender
canon point: After episode 43.
age: Never officially given, but a human would probably guess her age to be around 19

(canon) background: Voltron: Legendary Defender wiki and Allura's page on said wiki

abilities:
- Shapeshifting: Allura can make minor changes to her physical appearance, such as skin color, height, and general build
- Super strength: Allura is far stronger than a human. She is shown throwing people great distance and bending metal with her bare hands
- Altean Energy: A lot of Altean technology requires an Altean to power it with their own life force. Allura is particularly skilled at this, powering the entirety of the Castle of Lions with her own energy. Without Altean technology around, I can't imagine this will be TERRIBLY useful in Riverview, but if there's anything around that requires a generalized infusion of life force, Allura is the one to talk to
- Mice: Allura had a small family of mice sneak into her crypod before it activated. Apparently spending 10,000 years next to her gave them above average intelligence for mice AND something of a psychic link to her. They have been seen performing elaborate acrobatic routines to entertain her, styling her hair, and even repairing delicate machinery in places a humanoid would have trouble reaching. (If the mice need to be a regain, that's fine)

strengths: Diplomatic: Allura puts a lot of faith in Voltron, but more as a symbol of hope than as a weapon (though it is undoubtably both). She always goes out of her way to forge alliances and make good impressions with the natives of whatever planet they are currently on. Even after the Galra Empire is dismantled, they still will have to form some new kind of government. She wants the new government to be one based on the trust and support of all planets in it, not one based on fear of violence and domination. More generally, Allura prefers to try and find compromises that leave everyone satisfied (or at least equally unsatisfied) when she can.
Strong willed: Allura is leading a rebellion of seven people and five mice against a universe spanning empire, and at no point does she give in to just how incredibly impossible that sounds. She's usually the one that keeps the rest of the team on course when they start straying from their mission. While no one is really planning on giving up, Allura is the driving force behind Team Voltron. She is not the kind of person to be depressed or overwhelmed, no matter how large her task is or hopeless her situation seems. She'll keep searching for a solution and struggling, no matter how unlikely success looks, because that still feels better to her than just giving up.
Protective: Allura may have a personal grudge with the Galra, but the main reason she's fighting against them isn't personal. It's simply because it is the right thing to do. The universe needs saving, and while Allura was thrust into the role of being the one to do it, she hasn't shown any sign of wanting to pass the job to someone else. Allura is the kind of person who will stand up to bullies without thinking about it. She just wants everyone to be okay, even if she has to work at it.
weaknesses: Holds grudges: It is perhaps understandable that Allura hates the Galra. They did destroy her entire civilization, after all. It's an undeniable fact, however, that Allura lets this stop her from trusting them even in situations where it makes perfect sense to do so. She repeatedly goes on the record as saying that she will never trust a Galra, and when she finds out that Keith, a reliable teammate who has never shown any sign of duplicity, is part galra, she even stops trusting him for a while. By the end of the series so far, she has started to get over this, but I think it's a safe bet to say that holding grudges is just part of who she is.
Bossy: She IS a princess, after all. Allura grew up surrounded by people who expected her to be someone important some day, and is used to having people listening to her and taking her seriously. She quickly grows irritated when people ignore her, and feels little to no hesitation in telling others what to do. Even if someone DOES convince her to back down about a plan, she does so with poor grace, acting cold and distant towards her opponent until she's had time to calm down.
Immature: She's been raised to rule, but she's still a young adult. Allura doesn't always think through how her actions will effect others. She likes getting fancy presents, she lets semi-sapient mice style her hair in weird ways, she gets in food fights, and even used deadly force against her own allies in a team building exercise. These are not the actions of a seasoned ruler and mature adult, these are the actions of someone who was a child not too long ago, and is TRYING to be a grownup now but maybe isn't quite all the way there yet.

job skills (optional):
housing (optional): Allura has never had a roommate before, being a princess and an only child, so she would infinitely prefer a single room. OOCly, I'm fine with whatever.
